Chris Sharp Crosses the Finishing Line
Local Yorkshire businessman, Chris Sharp took on a challenge of a life time when he took part in this year’s New York Marathon to help raise money for The Alzheimers Society.
Chris, who is director of leading financial recruitment firm, Sharp Consultancy, successfully raised £2500 for the Alzheimers Society, a charity very close to his heart. For the last four years, his father has suffered from the mentally degenerative disease prompting Chris to become a keen supporter of the charity. Commenting on his achievement, Chris says: “When I was approached by The Alzheimers Society to be part of a 38 strong running team in the New York Marathon, I leapt at the chance. I’ve never been to New York so to be given the opportunity to run the streets of the one of the most impressive cities in the world for charity was a very inspiring experience for me.” New York was Chris’ second marathon having completed the London Marathon in 2005. Through his running Chris has also successfully raised £7500 for the Leeds General Infirmary Neonatal Ward and £3500 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Chris adds; “New York is an amazing place and I will definitely be visiting it again soon as it now holds some great memories for me. Thank you to everyone who has supported me in my campaign, your sponsorship has helped me raise money to support a very worthy cause; The Alzheimers Society.”
