Doncaster Businesses Support Local Hospice

Some of Doncaster’s most prominent businesses have come together to raise money for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

Leading financial recruiter, Sharp Consultancy held a charity quiz night, held at The Stables in High Melton, and with the help of a number of its clients, including ATH Resources, Polypipe, DHL and EWS, raised £600 for the charity. Sharp also generously matched the amount raised, taking the final amount to £1200

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice is now supporting 61 children and their families within the community and giving bereavement support to a further 16. Once the hospice is fully operational it will care and support for more than 200 children and their families. These children are suffering life limiting and life threatening conditions and are not currently receiving the care and support they need.

Commenting on the evening, Peter Bradley, corporate account manager at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, says: “As a charity we rely on the support of businesses across the region. Each year we have to raise £2.4million in order to provide this vital service to the children and families we support.

“When Sharp approached us with the idea of a quiz night we thought it was a fantastic idea, not only in helping us to raise funds but also a great opportunity to generate new support for the hospice.”

Daniel Statham, senior consultant at Sharp Consultancy and organiser of the quiz night, adds: “Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice is an extremely good cause and I am very pleased that we’re able to help support the good work it carries out for local children. The evening was a great success and everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I’d like to thank all of our clients who attended the event particularly EWS, the overall winners, and Clyde Bergemann Materials Handling, for their very generous donation.”
