Judging Gets Underway for North West Finance Director Awards

Having received over 200 nominations, organisers of the first ever North West Finance Director Awards have begun the task of judging the first round of entries, with 30 semi-finalists already earmarked for interview by the judging panel.

The awards set up by financial recruitment specialists Sharp Consultancy, with support from Barclays Commercial Bank, Grant Thornton and Halliwells have been established to underline the importance the FD role brings to the success of all sectors of North West business.

Commenting on the quality of entries Chris Sharp, founder of Sharp Consultancy said, “We really feel that FD’s are the unsung heroes of British business, and with the North West economy continuing to outperform other areas of the country, during what is globally a difficult time, we felt it was timely to ask management boards to highlight the contribution their FD’s have made to their businesses.

“The quality of entries has been outstanding and the judging panel has certainly had a difficult task on its hands selecting which entrants to put forward for interview. Amongst other judging criteria we’re looking for semi-finalists who have made an impact on their business through their leadership style as well as evidence of how they have influenced the overall strategic direction of the business.”
